Seismic Performance of Precast Concrete Column-to-Column Joint Using the Steel Plate Hoop and Bolts Connection

The traditional precast concrete column-to-column connections are widely used in the prefabricated frame structures China. However, many studies on joints have demonstrated their complex forms and poor construction efficiency. To overcome these shortcomings, a new type column–column connection with steel plate hoop bolts was designed proposed. In order to reveal seismic performance of this connection, four columns two cast-in-situ were tested by cyclic lateral loading. They compared analyzed from aspects test phenomenon, failure mode, load–displacement relationship, strength, stiffness degradation. results showed that had same as cast-in-place columns. Additionally, strain curves longitudinal reinforcement, stirrups, hoops presented, force transmission mode novel analyzed. indicated innovative reliable which can provide reference for application structure earthquake area.
